Have you been asked “join a discord group” by your friends, developers, or game communities? I just had been asked to join my friend’s discord a few days ago. I was so shocked that I didn’t know this app before being asked.
Discord is a chat app used by tens of millions of people over the age of 13 to chat and hang out with their friends and communities. Users are able to communicate via voice, video, and text messages. Discord differs from other communication apps in that gamer are able to stream games and play together, while chatting in groups or messages. It rose in popularity within the online game community.
However, Discord tried to rebrand and extended a wide range of its customers around 2022. They added more business-oriented features and made it less gaming-centric marketing.

Discord provides all of its core features for free, but premium subscription Nitro plans. Nitro plans unlocks access to all the perks they offer, including custom emojis and stickers anywhere or more, the perks for each plan are as below.
The feature of Discord
Compared with other communication apps, Discord offers integration with social apps which other apps do not have. The integration allows connections to social media, such as Twitch, Twitter, Spotify, Youtube and Reddit, which makes more sense for capturing the target audience.
In addition, they offer a wealth of support information through their extensive help center to help users find solutions to their problems. There are also community forums to get solutions from others who have gotten similar issues.
How to use Discord
Navigate to Discord.com and to visit their landing page, where you can be prompted to either download the desktop app or log in to the web platform. You also can install the official app on your smartphone. Register an account and start using it.
When you first log into the application, you should see a guided tutorial prompt about the features, follow it and you will know the basic functions.
